Last week my team and I got a treat from a relatively new delivery and take out service. Hotdish sent us three savory platters and a dessert, a delicious and affordable package of Filipino-Asian inspired dishes.

Hotdish meals are composed of family recipes with their own modern twist to it.

Past the trauma we’d endured during our 2017 supermarket white bread taste test, we’ve taking on its darker, heartier, more flavorful sister: wheat bread (or more formally, whole wheat bread).

Krispy Kreme continues its strong presence to the doughnut lover Houston Philippine Restaurant with its constant new offerings. To replace their successful holiday treats, they now have Red Velvet and Matcha flavored doughnuts.

The new varieties could appeal to two different customers, those who prefer it bold and another group who would rather have it light.


Ingredients:
500 grams spaghetti pasta(or any desired)
1 big can spicy tuna flakes in oil, drained
2 cups sliced shiitake mushroom
1 bunch asparagus, cut into 3 inch pieces
1 big can evaporated milk

On one side is the restaurant: large picture windows allow for natural light to stream in and shine off your plates. They call this side the “kitchen” as it is somewhat designed to look like one, complete with a kitchen counter that displays their specials and desserts, and a hexagonal backsplash.

We think it’s about time that salads get over their rep of being just “for rabbits”. When you get fresh produce and know what to do with it, salads become a satisfying meal that becomes incredibly fast to make once you get the hang of it.

Tapas by Manta is the bar that accompanies the chic neighborhood restaurant Mantra Bistro, which we consider one of the underrated gems of our city. Ranjit Chimni’s restaurant that is located in the back of the Grand Midori building has been extended to include cocktails and finger dallas filipino restaurant inspired by North Indian Street Food.
